Description

Malaseb is a topical antibacterial, antifungal and antipruritic, descaling and conditioning shampoo for dogs and cats.

Malaseb is used for the treatment of:

  • Treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis associated with infections by Staphylococcus intermedius, Malassezia and an aid in the treatment of dermatophyte infections due to Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes in dogs and cats.
  • Treatment of inflammatory forms of seborrhoea and an aid in the treatment of bacterial dermatitis and fungal infections of the skin in dogs and cats.
  • Removal of dirt and scale, degrease the skin and kill cutaneous micro-organisms that primarily or secondarily cause seborrhoeic dermatitis.

Dosage & Administration

  • Wet the animal thoroughly with clean water
  • Apply shampoo to the animal at several points and massage into the coat.  A sponge assists lathering and penetration of the coat
  • Ensure that shampoo is applied around the lips, under the tail and between the toes, as these areas harbour causative organisms
  • Allow to stand for 10 minutes and then rinse off with clean water
  • Repeat twice-weekly until symptoms abate, then weekly, or as directed by your veterinary surgeon
  • 50mL should be enough to treat a 30kg dog of medium hair-length and 7–10mL for an adult cat
