Description
Flusapex Oral Drops 25 ml is a powerful diuretic used to treat fluid build-up associated with congestive heart failure and other conditions in dogs and cats. Containing frusemide, it helps the body remove excess fluid, easing pressure on the heart and lungs while improving comfort and breathing. The liquid format allows precise dosing, especially for small pets or those who dislike tablets. Flusapex is a prescription-only medicine and should be used under veterinary supervision.

Frusemide (also called Furosemide) is an efficient diuretic which increases the urinary excretion of water, sodium, chloride and potassium. It acts primarily by affecting sodium resorption in the loop of Henle.

- Dosage:
- Always use as prescribed by your veterinarian
- Give orally and in divided doses
- Dogs = 0.2 - 0.4ml per kg bodyweight daily
- Cats = 0.1 - 0.2 ml per kg bodyweight daily.
- Duration will be determined by your veterinarian
- Side effects are usually an increase in both thirst and urine output but may include dehydration and metabolic alkalosis
- Contraindications:
- Patients with progressive renal disease if it shows signs of worsening during therapy
- Patients with impared hepatic function
- Concurrent use of Neomycin
- Caution: Ongoing monitoring, including electrolytes, is important
