Description
Leventa is an oral medication for the treatment of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) in dogs.

This once daily oral solution is given to replace the thyroid hormone that is being under produced in the hypothyroid condition. It comes in a 30ml bottle with a 1ml syringe for dosing.
Hypothyroidism can affect all breeds of dog, usually between 2-6 years of age (but not always) and affects males and females equally. It can be tricky to diagnose but symptoms can include weight gain, poor coat and fur growth, fur loss, pigmented skin, flakey skin and lethargy.

- Dosing is tailored to the individual animal based on clinical response and blood test results and will be determined by your vet
- Manufacturer recommends 0.2ml/10kg starting dose for most dogs
- Give at the same time every day
- Doses should be given 2-3 hours prior to food
- This dose will then be adjusted according to ongoing test results and checku ups
- Blood tests usually 4 weekly initially until the ideal levels are reached
- Blood tests usually taken 4-6 hours after dosing
- Keep product refrigerated, sealed and away from food
